Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field
Experience: Five to seven years of experience in the food industry. Functional exposure to product management, sales, marketing, customer service, or related function. Prior experience in the dehydrated vegetable industry is highly desirable
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the management of activities related to profit optimization of the various product lines contained in the Division’s portfolio. These responsibilities include marketing, product pricing recommendations, product line development, the coordination of manufacturing capability, sales requirements, sales forecasting, inventory development and market analysis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Based on market segmentation analysis, develop and implement marketing strategies for the company’s product lines.
Formulate product pricing recommendations consistent with divisional revenues and gross margin expectations.
Prepare and maintain consolidated sales forecasts. Work with operations to insure that manufacturing capabilities and sales requirements are coordinated and optimized. Manage inventories to optimize working capital.
Act as the liaison between the sales and manufacturing functions with the objective of developing effective communication and understanding of market requirements versus product line development.
Develop and maintain competitor profiles and market information regarding market share, market size, product applications and competitive pricing.
Manage outside warehousing activities to ensure effective operations and customer satisfaction.
Plan and coordinate the company’s participation in industry trade shows and conferences.
Other duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS
This position will have frequent and varied contact with all members of the sales function, including brokers and distributors. Ongoing contact with other internal functions including manufacturing, finance/accounting, quality, field operations, new product development, etc., as required to effectively performing the job. Regular contact with customers either directly or through/with sales staff. Periodic contact with industry groups / associations.
