Education: Bachelors degree in business, marketing, food science or related field
Experience: Three to five years of progressively responsible sales, marketing, and/or product management experience in the food ingredient industry
Skills: Experience in product development and in culinary arts is highly preferred
Position Summary
This position is responsible for growing sales volumes and margins by calling on prospective and established customers. Maintains sales programs within assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices and new products. Responsible for meeting established sales quota. Monitors competitive activity and trends within the territory. Keeps records and prepares reports on sales activities. Determines priority and effort given to each account based on sales potential and sales maintenance.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain and increase sales with current accounts (direct and through brokers) consistent with sales goals and objectives.
Obtain additional sales through new account development.
Review and supervise brokers sales activities.
Develop and review sales forecasts and manage contract sales.
Take leadership role in the development and promotion of new products.
Participate in trade shows and industry association functions as required.
Principal Contacts
This position will have regular contact with Regional Sales Manager, other sales department staff, customer service, QA/QC, R&D, and other company departments as needed to perform the job. Constant contact with customers, brokers, agents, etc. is required.
