Location: Bakersfield, CA

This person reports to the Chairman of the Board of Directors. This person shall oversee the operational aspects of the company and assist the COO and CFO in leading to ensure established procedures are followed. They shall suggest and help implement agreed upon new policies, procedures and monitors quality assurance of the company. They shall oversee and continue development of the customer accounts. They shall provide input and leadership on the establishment of company goals.

The managers of the subsidiary company are self supporting and only answer to and report progress to the CEO. The managers are generally guided by the rules and procedures in the company’s employee manual.

Qualifications:

3.        10 to 15 produce related experience

4.        5+ years retail experience in produce

5.        5+ years executive level management experience

6.        Experienced in staff management and development

Duties/Responsibilities

40%--Management/Team Building

1.        Direct, monitor, manage and evaluate performance of managed staff

2.        Coach, mentor and establish empowerment initiatives and be responsible for the development of managed staff and overall learning objectives of employees and evaluate progress

3.        Ensure that duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability of all managed staff are defined, understood and maintained.

4.        Coordinate activities of managed staff and groups/departments as necessary including identifying the reporting mechanisms of groups and include goals.

5.        Consult on the regular basis with managed staff and others as necessary to ensure compliance to objectives and policies.   

6.        Develop   and execute recommendations for improving effectiveness of objectives and policies and coordinate with COO and CFO for final policy decision.

40%--Strategy

1.        Identify and develop strategic initiatives for future company goals.

2.        Responsible for the quality of the relationship with customers.

3.        Assist and lead with COO with the direct communication with customers.

4.        Responsible for employee adherence to company policies.

5.        Work with COO in the identification of marketing strategies

6.        Actively travel to major retail accounts and top vendors to ensure expectations for high standards in the areas of product quality, costumer service, buying practices and customer communication presenting our programs and culture and stature of our customers.

7.        Be active in  research within our produce industry

8.        Define and recommend strategic enhancements that position to continue providing top of the line service to our accounts.

9.        Utilize financial data, business/industry research, decision making capabilities and teamwork as part of a disciplined approach to establishing, reviewing and maintaining customer relations.

10.     Identify and cultivate industry sources of information via customer contact and external sources (internet, publications, competitive factors) resulting in improved competitive advantage for company).

11.     Be the face of our customers to the industry we deal with from sales people up to major management including company owners.

20%-Communication/Reporting/Scheduling

1.        Work with COO AND CFO for submission of “budget” reports to the Board of Directors

2.        Review operational metrics on company performance and \install suggestions for increased efficiencies

3.        Oversee budget preparation with COO and CFO for presentation to the Board of Directors

4.        Have a weekly management meeting with COB, COO AND CFO

5.        Participate in a monthly Board of Directors meeting which includes CEO, COO AND CFO to review previous monthly financials.

6.        Annual and Semi-annual performance reviews and informal reports weekly from direct reports. Work with COO in major communications with top vendors and customer accounts
