Reports to: Director, Engineering

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, food Science or Business Administration

Location: Livingstone, CA

Salary: $100,000k+; Target bonus is 12-15%.

Total employees is in the range of 85 to 100.  Total budget is in the range of $8 million (operating) and $10-14 million (capital).

Mission(s): Ensure maximum uptime for production equipment in a cost effective manner; Meet capital improvement cost and timeline objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the frozen food industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates manage stock requirements.

Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.

Prepare reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.

Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

Supervise and participate in the development and administration of maintenance department's budget; direct the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor approved expenditures; implement adjustments as needed.

Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.

Ensure that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.

Review operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance.

Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

Ensure city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.

Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of safety for all maintenance technicians.

Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.

Drive start up efforts at the facility; lead the maintenance group during checkout and commissioning of the facility.

Recommend whether capital projects should be implemented in-house or by outside contractors.

Supervise execution of capital projects to ensure adherence to project timelines and cost projections.

Knowledge of:

Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.

SAP modules for maintenance management.
