Location: McAllen Area, Texas

Salary is open the person will be judged by there experience.

Job Summary:  The Director of Operations is responsible for directing the daily activities of two Fresh warehouse locations, including labor scheduling, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower. 

Key responsibilities include:Staffing; Employee development; Warehouse operations; Maintenance of the facility and equipment; Implementation of safety, security, housekeeping and sanitation programs; Budgeting; Customer service.

The Director of Operations serves as an interface and coordinator between warehouse operations, customer service, I.T. and maintenance.  The Director of Operations is accountable for the safe, efficient and economical operation of the facility and equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Operations:  Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation and utilization of the facility.  Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storage, shipping, handling of returned goods, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.  Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.  Plan long range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.  Make recommendation to senior management on programs to improve operations.
Layout:  Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards.  Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.  Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary.
Labor Management:  Direct the operations of the warehouse supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives.  Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development.  Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required.  Apply sound communications and motivational techniques, create programs to supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates.  Implement an appropriate performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases and terminations.

Qualifications (Experience or Training Required):Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent. Experience in all areas of warehouse operations. Full understanding of Financial Statements. Excellent Leadership Skills. Excellent Communications Skills. Spanish Language proficiency a plus.
